WHAT WE’RE RENTING

Summer is a melodramatic season, and when a friend told me she had to sit sobbing in the theater after seeing On Dangerous Ground recently, I knew that I needed to rent it immediately. Robert Ryan plays an NYC cop who dropped his moral compass down a sewer grate long ago. He finds salvation, maybe, when his boss sends him to crack an upstate murder involving a pissed off daddy and a heartbreaking Ida Lupino.
